Future-proofing Digital Communications

In this Episode we sit down with Dr Jake Kennard, co-founder and Chief Applications Officer of KETS Quantum Ltd, a quantum security company working to build a quantum-secure internet.

We talk with Jake about the less often mentioned dark side of the dawn of the Quantum Computer (QC’s) that our modern digital infrastructure is protected by security systems built upon mathematical challenges that classical computers struggle to solve, but will pose no difficulty for QC’s to break.

We discuss the urgency to solve these quantum vulnerabilities even before QC’s are commercially available, because nothing is stopping hackers from stealing information now, and decrypting it with a QC in the future.

KETS Quantum is developing a quantum-enabled encryption technique for key distribution based on photonic integrated circuits (PICs) that integrate and scale easily into our existing silicon semiconductor infrastructure. KETS recently raised a £3.1m pre-Series A round to take the next step to accelerate their technology into the marketplace.
