Improving Genetics for Insect Farming

For this episode, we talk to Dr Thomas Farrugia, founder and CEO of Beta Bugs, an insect genetics company developing and distributing Black Soldier Fly breeds to the insect farming sector.

With their work, Beta Bugs are enabling insect protein to strengthen it's position in the livestock feeding market, ultimately offering a greener alternative to the currently very environmentally damaging products like soymeal and fishmeal.

Thomas shares his journey from the first taste of insects to becoming CEO of an insect genetics business and explains why scientists make great CEOs.
